Lesson Activities: Sample
'Ordinary Things?' explores the power of seemingly everyday objects to reveal intensely moving stories about the Holocaust. Part of this activity is the following eight minute film, developed for the United Nations by the IOE and the Holocaust Centre. Below are detailed lesson notes and an accompanying PowerPoint.
'Ordinary Things?' integrates the video 'Footprints' into a classroom activity and is described in full in this PDF document, which provides a detailed lesson plan, pedagogical explanation and outcomes for exploring the Holocaust through authentic artefacts.
The 'Ordinary Things?' PowerPoint presentation accompanies and complements the video 'Footprints' and is an introduction to the wealth of free resources available to participants on the CPD programme.
At each stage of the CPD, more resources become available as you progress through the secure area of our website.
Register and book your place on the free CPD to begin accessing these further resources and using them in your classroom.
