IOE Beacon Schools in Holocaust Education
2013/2014 Applications
The Institute of Education (IOE) seeks 20 secondary schools in England committed to enhancing teaching and learning about the Holocaust. IOE Beacon Schools in Holocaust Education will become dynamic hubs serving a network of local schools and offering support, resources and materials for teaching this complex and emotionally-charged subject.
In the most ambitious programme in Holocaust education available in the UK, the IOE will invest heavily in the professional development of Beacon School Lead Teachers – a role you may wish to undertake yourself – with a four day Residential Seminar in London (21-24 July) and a Study Visit to Warsaw (October half term), all expenses paid.
We can also offer CPD in your school for your colleagues and those in your partner schools, again free of charge, and support in implementing IOE materials and classroom activities into new Schemes of Work, carefully designed to meet the particular needs of your students.
For further information and application form download the documents below or email us at [email protected] The closing date for applications is 17:00 on Monday 29 April 2013.
We do hope you will consider applying.
